Quick Start

  1. Start at the Blast Furnace in Keldagrim (or anywhere if restocking is enabled)
  2. Prepare your bank with:
    • Ores for your chosen bar type
    • Coins for coffer payment (72,000 gp/hour on official worlds)
    • Stamina potions (highly recommended)
  3. Equip/bring optional items:
    • Ice gloves (avoid needing water bucket)
    • Coal bag (for bars requiring coal)
    • Goldsmith gauntlets (for gold bars, 2.5x XP)
  4. Configure the GUI:
    • Select your bar type
    • Enable stamina potions
    • Enable restocking if you want automatic supply replenishment
  5. Click Start - The script detects ice gloves, goldsmith gauntlets, and coal bag automatically

Script Arguments

Load a saved settings profile by passing the profile name as a script argument:

MyProfile

This loads <tribot-folder>/nScripts/nBlastFurnace/settings/MyProfile.ini and starts immediately without showing the GUI. Useful for automation and automatically starting scripts on clients.

Additional options:

  • last - Load the most recently used settings
  • Profiles saved to nScripting.com Settings Storage can also be loaded by name

Requirements

Skill Requirements

Bar Type Smithing Level Coal per Bar
Iron 15 0
Silver 20 0
Steel 30 1 (half of normal)
Gold 40 0
Mithril 50 2 (half of normal)
Adamantite 70 3 (half of normal)
Runite 85 4 (half of normal)

Note: Under 60 Smithing requires paying the Blast Furnace Foreman 2,500 coins every 10 minutes. At 60+ Smithing, this fee is waived.

Quest Requirements

  • The Giant Dwarf - Must be started to access Keldagrim
    • The script can automatically start this quest if needed

Items Needed

Required:

  • Ores for your chosen bar type (not needed if GE restocking is enabled)
  • Coins for coffer (72,000 gp/hour on official BF worlds)
  • Coins for foreman fee (if under 60 Smithing)
  • Coins for purchasing supplies (if GE restocking is enabled)

Highly Recommended:

  • Ice gloves - Allows instant bar collection without water bucket (obtained from Ice Queen)
  • Coal bag - Holds 27 extra coal, dramatically increasing efficiency for steel+ bars (100 golden nuggets at Motherload Mine)
  • Stamina potions - Essential for maintaining run energy

Optional:

  • Goldsmith gauntlets - 2.5x XP when smelting gold bars (Family Crest quest reward)
  • Ring of wealth - Used for GE teleportation during restocking

How It Works

The script operates in a continuous loop:

  1. Withdraw ores from the bank chest
  2. Fill coal bag (if applicable and not empty)
  3. Deposit ores on the conveyor belt
  4. Empty coal bag onto conveyor (if applicable)
  5. Wait for bars to smelt
  6. Cool bars using water bucket (or equip ice gloves to skip)
  7. Collect bars from the bar dispenser
  8. Bank bars and repeat

The script automatically:

  • Hops to official Blast Furnace worlds
  • Pays the foreman fee (under 60 Smithing)
  • Fills the coffer with coins
  • Drinks stamina potions when run energy is low
  • Handles the coal bag for efficient smelting
  • Switches between ice gloves and goldsmith gauntlets when needed

GE Restocking

When enabled, the script automatically restocks supplies at the Grand Exchange when ores run low:

  1. Travels to the GE (using Ring of Wealth teleport if available)
  2. Sells finished bars and depleted rings of wealth
  3. Buys ores, coal, stamina potions, and new rings of wealth
  4. Returns to Blast Furnace and resumes smelting

The script respects OSRS's 4-hour GE buy limits. If you hit a limit, it can either wait for the limit to reset or request ores from a mule (if configured).

Muling

When connected to nMule, the script can automatically transfer gold and items between accounts:

  • Sending gold: When your coins exceed a threshold (e.g., 5M), the script trades excess gold to your mule while keeping a reserve
  • Requesting ores: If you hit GE buy limits, the script can request ores directly from your mule instead of waiting

To use muling, you need a second account running the nMule script. Both accounts meet in-game to trade - no external tools required.

Settings Reference

Basic Options

Bar Type

  • Select which bar to smelt from the dropdown
  • All bars except Bronze are supported (Bronze is not profitable at Blast Furnace)
  • The script requires the appropriate Smithing level

Use stamina potions

  • Enabled by default and highly recommended
  • Maintains run energy while moving between bank, furnace, and dispenser
  • Stamina potions are consumed automatically when run energy drops

Note: The script automatically detects ice gloves, goldsmith gauntlets, and coal bag in your inventory or equipment. No manual configuration needed for these items.

Restocking Tab

Restock ores at the Grand Exchange

  • When enabled, travels to the GE to buy ores when supplies run out
  • Requires coins in bank or inventory

Restock stamina potions

  • Automatically buys stamina potions during restocking trips

Restock rings of wealth

  • Buys rings of wealth for GE teleportation

Sell empty rings of wealth

  • Sells depleted rings during restocking to recover cost

Advanced Settings

Actions - Script-specific efficiency settings:

  • Coffer fill amount: How much GP to deposit when filling the coffer
  • Stamina potion drinking threshold and bank withdrawal amounts
  • Hovering behavior for the bar dispenser

Restocking - Configure GE behavior when supplies run low:

  • Pricing strategies for buying ores (instant buy vs. lower prices)
  • Custom ore quantities per restock trip
  • "Exit restocking early" to stop script instead of waiting for GE limits

Muling - Connect to nMule for automated transfers:

  • Cash-in/cash-out thresholds for when to request or send gold
  • Transfer bars to mule instead of keeping them
  • Request ores directly from mule instead of restocking at GE

Mining/Getting Coal Bag - Automated account preparation:

  • Trains Mining from 1 to 30 automatically
  • Mines pay-dirt at Motherload Mine until 100 golden nuggets
  • Purchases coal bag from Prospector Percy
  • Optional Doric's Quest completion for Mining XP boost
  • Can stop after obtaining coal bag or continue to Blast Furnace

Standard settings for antiban, AFK behavior, world hopping, breaks, and Discord notifications are also available - hover over options for details.

Supported Bars

Bar Level XP Primary Ore Coal Needed
Iron 15 12.5 Iron ore 0
Silver 20 13.67 Silver ore 0
Steel 30 17.5 Iron ore 1
Gold 40 22.5 (56.2 w/ gauntlets) Gold ore 0
Mithril 50 30 Mithril ore 2
Adamantite 70 37.5 Adamantite ore 3
Runite 85 50 Runite ore 4

Tip: Gold bars with goldsmith gauntlets provide the fastest Smithing XP. Steel and mithril bars are typically the most profitable.

Account Preparation Features

The script can prepare new accounts for Blast Furnace:

Smithing Training (1-15 or 1-30)

  • Buys supplies from GE (bronze bars, iron bars, hammer)
  • Smiths at Varrock West anvil
  • Trains to the minimum level required for your chosen bar

Coal Bag Acquisition

Enable in Advanced Settings > Mining/Getting Coal Bag:

  1. Trains Mining to level 30
  2. Travels to Motherload Mine
  3. Mines pay-dirt until 100 golden nuggets
  4. Purchases coal bag from Prospector Percy

Doric's Quest

  • Can complete Doric's Quest automatically for Mining XP boost
  • Purchases required ores from GE

Troubleshooting

"No bar type selected"

Fix: Open the GUI and select a bar type from the dropdown before starting.

"We do not have enough room in our bank"

Fix: Free up bank space - the script needs room to deposit bars.

"We are not a member"

Fix: Renew membership or enable auto-bond purchase in Advanced Settings.

"Please do not start the script with coal already in the furnace when smelting iron bars"

Fix: Collect any existing bars from the dispenser first. Leftover coal causes iron ore to become steel bars instead.

Coin/coffer errors

"We have run out of coins to pay the foreman" / "The coffer has run out of coins" / "We have no coins to fill the coffer"

Fix: Ensure you have enough coins in your bank for:

  • Coffer fees (72,000 gp/hour on official worlds)
  • Foreman fees if under 60 Smithing (2,500 gp per 10 minutes)
  • GE purchases if restocking is enabled

"We do not have gloves: [glove type]"

Fix: The script detected gloves at startup but they're now missing. Check your inventory/equipment for ice gloves or goldsmith gauntlets.

"We have reached a GE buy limit"

Fix: OSRS limits how much you can buy every 4 hours. Options:

  • Enable "Logout while GE limit" to wait for the reset
  • Enable muling to request ores from your mule instead

"There are too many bars, and none of them are of the chosen type"

Fix: The dispenser contains bars from a previous session. Collect them manually before switching bar types.

Mule connection errors

"Failed to get ores from mule" / "Error requesting ores from mule"

Fix: Check that your mule account is running nMule and has supplies available. Verify connection settings match on both accounts.

Getting Help

If you run into issues not covered in Troubleshooting:

  1. Generate a bug report - In TRiBot: Dev Tab → Generate Bug Report (includes logs, settings, and screenshot)
  2. Post on Discord - Share the zip and describe what happened vs. what you expected at discord.gg/BFtypSSbjp

For issues that are hard to capture in a screenshot, a short screen recording helps.

Tips

  • Use ice gloves - Skipping the water bucket step significantly increases bars per hour
  • Coal bag is essential for bars requiring coal - it nearly doubles your efficiency
  • Goldsmith gauntlets + gold bars provide the fastest Smithing XP in the game
  • Progressive mode automatically upgrades to higher-tier bars as your level increases - great for training
  • Enable restocking for unattended operation - the script will buy supplies when needed
  • Official BF worlds (designated Blast Furnace worlds) are required for solo operation - the script automatically selects one
  • Run energy management is critical - always use stamina potions or expect significant slowdown
  • Under 60 Smithing, budget for foreman fees (2,500 gp per 10 minutes) in addition to coffer costs
