FAQ

What is TRiBot 11?

TRiBot 11 is the first version of TRiBot to get rid of our horrendous default UI and bring a modern and familiar feel to botting.

What’s it about?

New UI
Smarter API

Same old awesomeness

Does TRiBot 11 use any more resources than TRiBot 10

Hardly any, and in-fact should be more efficient with upcoming updates. We’ve noticed about a 1% increase in usage.

What’s next?

Now that we don’t have to worry about breaking older scripts we can start implementing smarter botting technologies and revolutionize the botting game.

Can I continue to use the old TRiBot?

Yes for a brief period of time, see our thread here https://tribot.org/forums/topic/82579-tribot-10-legacy-launcher

How long can I use the old TRiBot?

It’s hard to say, we just simply aren’t providing updates for it any longer. It may continue to work fine for months, but many scripts will immediately upgrade to require 11.

Will my current external tools (Client Starter, Account adder, etc) continue to work?

Probably not immediately, talk to the developer and ask when TRiBot 11 support is coming

Will scripts on the repository continue to work?

Absolutely, every script written from 2012-2020 should work without any problems!

I added a script from the repository, and it’s not showing up?

In order to reduce CPU and Server-Load scripts are now only refreshed when you add a new client. Developers can bypass this by enabling developer mode.

How do I develop scripts with TRiBot 11?

Pretty much the same way you develop TRiBot 10 with some minor changes. First make sure you’ve loaded TRiBot 11 at least one. Next include all the files in dependencies inside of your project. Now, make sure to include the file inside the /dependancies/developer/lib folder!

What happened to all the features listed in the beta post?

A number of features such as ABCl3 and Java 11 have been relegated so that we can include them in TRiBot X. Which is coming out soon!

Does TRiBot 11 improve or include any new antiban?

Yes! All of our updates have had Anti-Ban in mind. We have added multiple game hooks to 11 to make sure that scripts continue working and continue working right. Additionally system information spoof and Touch-Screen mode are added to TRiBot 11!

My LG keeps saying "No Runescape Client found" even when OSBuddy is up and running.
then why I try normal  "New Client" it just sits there saying "Downloading Jar" or "Loading Params"

@TRiLeZ

Absolutely love the new aesthetic. Looks cleaner, way more professional, and darker. Great work man.

Just downloaded and began using it no problem. To a bunch of people having the error problems, at least on Mac the only problem for me was selecting the correct java version to use. It defaulted to something else, so just make sure it's on the jre kit.

could we get a script selection button on the top right? that will give us a pop-up with the scripts (similar to old client) instead of opening this new big clunky side panel?

The side bar can be minimized to just the icons if you click the icon of the open tab. It’s the same amount of clicks as before to start a script, you just aren’t familiar yet with the new interface.

If you’re having issues loading the game, do not set a proxy in the loader and instead right click the tab after loading a client and set the proxy that way.

We are working on fixing proxy loading from the loader.

right, but it still expands the big massive side-bar in order to run a script

    • Hello everyone,

Last week we tried to roll out Auth0 Login, but we lost that battle. Now it's time to win the war!

      Important changes

When logging into the client, you'll now have to enter your Auth0 account credentials instead of your forums credentials

Note: 2FA is still handled through your forums account (for the time being)

      Changes for existing users

You'll have to link your Auth0 account to your forums account here: https://tribot.org/forums/settings/login/?service=11

Auth0 accounts have been created for most existing users. Please use your forums email address and password to login.

      Important notes

Make sure to verify your email address upon creating a new Auth0 account

When we mention your Auth0 account, we mean your account used for auth.tribot.org as displayed below
      • 69 replies
    • To better support the upcoming changes (TRiBot X, new repository), we're switching our login handler to Auth0. Instead of logging in with the standard form, you'll now be required to login through our Auth0 application.

All existing accounts which have been used within approximately the past year have been imported into Auth0 using the same email and password combination which has been stored on the forums.

What does this mean for users?

Your account credentials are now even more securely stored

You'll be able to login via Facebook, Google, and others in the future

Is there anything users have to do differently now?

Existing users: You'll have to login with the standard login, open your Account Settings, then link your Auth0 account

New users: You'll be redirected to our Auth0 app (auth.tribot.org) where you'll be able to create an account

      Why was this change made?

The new apps we are creating (such as the new repository) aren't able to use the forums to handle user logins

To centralize all user accounts in one area

To ensure that the client login doesn't go down when the forums are having problems

      To speed up our development

      Other considerations

There's no documentation or official support for using Invision Community combined with Auth0, so there are still a few kinks we're working out

We're in the works of creating an account management panel specifically for Auth0 accounts (ETA August)

It's not possible to change email addresses for the time being (this will be resolved this August)

Changing passwords is a weird process for the time being. To change your password, you'll have to use the "Don't remember your password" tool on the Auth0 login page

    • Over the past month, we've been working hard on TRiBot's new repository - a much needed update. This change has been deemed necessary for TRiBot X, and will allow us to really speed up development of all aspects of TRiBot.

Today we are going to share what we've been working on!

Now you must be wondering what kind of features the new repository will have.... well, you'll have to be patient for a little while longer. We're still figuring out various technical aspects so we can't provide answers to all possible questions. We're also focusing on development rather than writing about it so that everyone can get access to our latest developments at lightning speed. I will however answer a few users' questions.

We're planning on a release of this early to mid August, giving users some goodies before TRiBot X's release.

Thank you all for being patient. I hope everyone is excited as much as I am!

    • Over the past few months, I’ve been working diligently on a new project - TRiBot X. Everything has been written from the ground up, with all of the best practices of software engineering. Every aspect of TRiBot has been re-imagined to support three main goals: flexibility, useability, and reliability.
