If you've completed a degree with a relation to coding in some level, surely you'd be able to pick basic java up without tuition..

Studying electrical engineering so I only got to practice first years C programming and robotics. I'm trying to make myself a clue scroll script but am struggling with what apis to use for certain things. ex I know i can use string to locate the medium clue but don't know how to save its changing after step completion.

If you're capable of studying Electrical Engineering, writing scripts for TRiBot shouldn't be a challenge, especially since you've already been exposed to programming.

There's no shortcut, you will need to put in a few days (or weeks) of learning:

1. Get familiar with Java: https://docs.oracle.com/javase/tutorial/

2. Skim through our API: https://tribot.org/doc/

3. Read open source scripts and try to understand them: https://tribot.org/forums/forum/131-approved/

4. Write basic scripts, test them, try to improve the code.

You can also post your work on the forums for feedback.

Good luck.

Break the script into decoupled functions like:

  • Bank
  • Attack NPC
  • Eat food and drink consumables
  • Loot
  • Walk to bank
  • Walk to NPC location

Then tackle the list of functions systematically, one at a time. For each function you tackle, break it down further into smaller elements, like for the loot function:

  • A function to get all the ground items in an area that match a given ID list
  • A function to sort those ground items by distance from player so you can pick them up efficiently
  • A function to check if the player has space for a given ground item
  • A function to pick up a given ground item
