Calling a script from another script

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

Is there any way to call a script from the TRiBot repository from another script programmatically, rather than going through the client script queue system?

I've tried searching on google and these forums, but I couldn't seem to find anything about this issue.

If you're writing your own scripts, just bundle all the code into a single script and then run it.

Otherwise if you want to do that with the scripts available on the repository, @laniax 's bot manager will be able to do that, if I understand correctly.

Do you happen to have any more info on this, like where to start looking in the client/API/etc?

I'd appreciate anything that you could tell me.

You'd need to: grab the client JFrame, find the JButton to start a script, click the button, wait for the script selection screen to appear, and then do a similar process to select the script.

I've been able to get as far as the script selection screen, but as I didn't actually need to start scripts that way, I didn't push much farther when I couldn't find a way to interact with the script selection screen. I suppose you could just go back through all the windows again? But I'm not sure.

Here's a collection of snippets I have to get you started. You will also need a way to kill your current script thread, and then start another without completely losing the first script. Lan's Script Tools do this, and are open source, you can find that source here.

I always wondered how to do this, thanks for sharing!

This is pretty much exactly what I was looking for, although I wish that there was a way in the TRiBot API to pause our current running scripts and run another script through to completion without simulating button presses in the TRiBot interface.

I greatly appreciate the answer, thank you.

I've been bundling my scripts into a single one for the most part, but it would obviously be nice to be able to build off of some of the other great scripts in the repo.

I believe that @laniax's manager is still in beta, but will be a fantastic tool once completed.

Thanks for the reply!
