Converting old private script to Tribot from Dreambot

APIs are different, logic would be same.

Would have to go though and replace a bunch of methods with TRiBot equivalents (if there is one)
Is possible, but not fun.

thanks, maybe now is the time i learn to do something for myself :D

It's not feasible.

Scripts are fairly small. I could write a Tribot script from scratch much faster than porting one from another client. Honestly, I could probably code a script in another client faster than I could port a Tribot script to it (and I've never even used the other APIs).

This would be a good opportunity to get familiar with the TRiBot API. At first, don't actually write any code, just look up each Dreambot method in the TRiBot API and see if there's an equivalent. If at the end of reading over the script you think it's doable, then go ahead and start writing the actual code. Since the logic will be the same it'll be a good opportunity to get familiar with what scripting actually feels like from a developer point of view.

As stated above, it would probably be more work than simply writing your own script. You would have to change so many things you would practically end up creating a whole new script anyways (although I'm not familiar with the dreambot API).

When you going to apply for scripter? even if it isnt a premium scripter position? I see you contributing a lot and would like to see you progress in the forums! Obviously improvements are inevitable but you contribute some good scripts :)

There is no such thing as converting a script. You will need to re-write it entirely.

You could use the old logic as a guideline, but considering the fact that you bought it

super cheap

, I don't believe that it's worth it, and any scripter could write it from scratch much more efficiently.

Thanks for the support, I appreciate it! I have been thinking about it, I would have to develop a script that implements full abc2 first for the application but I just haven't had the time lately to come up with any good ideas.

I don't know if it has to be an original idea or not. But i would look into some scripts we are missing out on in repo so that if you do get it passed, you can just make that script your first Premium script :) I recommend an AIO crafter, AIO FM/Farming, etc. Something of that nature :) Since they fixed the ticking for farming, it should be a lot easier to code for an AIO bot for that :)

Ability to read the current input for username and password fields

      RS3 Support Removed

The RS3 client hasn't been updated since our Old-School version of TRiBot was released, as many of you may have noticed. Keeping all of the RS3 code in the client made the client as a whole harder to maintain, larger, slower, and messier. As hardly anyone still uses the RS3 client, and since the RS3 API was hardly functioning, we made the decision to completely remove it from TRiBot.

For the average user, this means that the client will be smaller, cleaner, and faster. Future updates will also take less work meaning there will be more frequent updates.

If you were one of the few users still using the RS3 client, we apologize for the inconvenience. No future support for RS3 is planned. There are many other botting clients which has support for RS3, so we recommend finding an alternative if you wish to continue botting on RS3.
