For any of you that program your own scripts, getModel().getPoints().length on RSNPC, RSObject, and RSGroundItem works beautifully ATM.

(Remember to check getModel()!=null)

Did it for a quick fix myself and I intend to leave it in my script permanently as a secondary check.

 

Example: a chicken has 1230 model points.
