Finding object in RSArea[]

Recommended Posts

If there a method or api that allows me to check an RSArea[] for an Object?

Basically in English terms, I want to:

Check RSArea[] for a certain RSObject;

if true; return a list of all matching objects and click any one of the objects returned by that boolean.

Thank you to anyone that helps.

@Zenyatta I would recommend using a Filter, which will greatly reduce CPU usage in some situations.

    public RSObject[] getAllObjectsInArea(RSArea area) {

        return Objects.find(20, new Filter<RSObject>() {

            @Override
            public boolean accept(RSObject object) {
                return area.contains(object);
            }
        });
    }

This means you don't need to iterate through the RSObject[] Objects.find(...) would originally produce and makes for a cleaner and more efficient method. You can adjust the conditions inside the accept() boolean to your liking if you want to specify more things like only getting entities of a specific ID, combat level, etc.

This filter does what you need:
https://tribot.org/doc/org/tribot/api2007/ext/Filters.Objects.html#inArea-org.tribot.api2007.types.RSArea-

RSObject[] targets = Objects.find(20, Filters.Objects.inArea(your_RSArea));

You can combine filters to filter by multiple properties:
https://tribot.org/doc/org/tribot/api/types/generic/Filter.html#combine-org.tribot.api.types.generic.Filter-boolean-

 An example, all fires in your area at most 20 tiles away.

RSObject[] fires = Objects.find(20, Filters.Objects.inArea(your_RSArea).combine(Filters.Objects.nameEquals("Fire"), false));

To select which object to click, you can use ABCUtil#selectNextTarget.

private ABCUtil abc = new ABCUtil();

...

RSObject[] fires = Objects.find(20, Filters.Objects.inArea(your_RSArea).combine(Filters.Objects.nameEquals("Fire"), false));
RSObject fire = (RSObject) abc.selectNextTarget(fires);
if (DynamicClicking.clickRSObject(fire, "Examine")) {
	System.out.println("Fire examined");
}
else {
	System.out.println("Failed to examine fire");
}

Update for anyone who's still looking for this. Tribot now includes an Object#getAllIn() to find Objects in an area. You can find it here:

https://tribot.org/doc/org/tribot/api2007/Objects.html#getAllIn-org.tribot.api.interfaces.Positionable-org.tribot.api.interfaces.Positionable-java.util.function.Predicate-

Loads objects only if the area is loaded.
