Need Script Ideas

Recommended Posts

Alright so I'm a web development student who enjoys botting RS. I am trying to learn some Java and TRiBot's APIs so I can start writing some scripts. I want to aim for the scripter rank, and for that I need 3+ scripts available to the public.

Right now, I am working on a script that kills Tree spirits in Enchanted Valley from a safespot while low/high alching axes that the spirit drops. The basic functionality of the script works but has no ABC 2 implemented and does not yet alch items. I'm working on understanding ABC 2 and how to fully implement it into my script.

Anyway, I need at least 2 other scripts to write for the public. I don't want to write a script that's been made and open on the repository 100x over. I want something a bit more unique. Any script ideas you guys can throw my way?

Also, if anybody could help me understand how to implement ABC2 that would be great. I have a hard time understanding from just reading a manual. I need a teacher.

I was watching some videos the other day and found a very interesting money making method of buying beers from the Blue Moon Inn in Varrock (or any other bar, doesn't really matter) and then consuming the beer to get a beer glass. I'm not sure how the economics of having that be a f2p public script would effect prices but I guess those empty beer glasses sell for hundreds. Would be a good little project I imagine, with low ramifications, but still useful. Looks like there's decent volume on the GE.

Definitely something along the lines of what I'm looking to script. Thanks for the suggestion.

Yep, f2p and can test it with fresh lvl 3s. 3 main components being buying the beer through dialogue, drinking the beer, then banking the beer glasses. You're welcome and hope you stay around! Always appreciate more scripters and active members.

I bought myself a proxy so I can test scripts on fresh accounts without flagging my IP at home. Once I figure out ABC I will try tackling this script.

I want all my scripts to work flawlessly, of course, so I need to get ABC implementation down. I'm taking a look at a script of a recently approved scripter to try to understand ABC. Maybe tonight I could get some ABC implemented on my current script.

Hey man.

This might be a bit of a project, but I suggest something like an air orb runner. There are only 2 available ones, the premium one is not great from time to time from what I have heard and the free one stops at 72 magic I believe. Some people would love that I am sure.

The beer idea itself though is a great idea and seems like a good project to do. I am hoping to start getting into scripting as well as it seems pretty interesting and somewhat fun to learn.

Either way I wish you luck. If you need accounts or anything let me know.

Thanks! Yeah coding is fun, I played with CSS / HTML at a really young age and fell in love with computers. In high school I took a computer science course where we programmed with liberty basic and now I'm in a software development college course. I really like it, and planned to start scripting for TRiBot when I started learning more so here I am.

The orb runner sounds like something bigger, and I'll stick to simpler stuff for now until I'm more experienced.

That's so awesome. When you already come from a background of scripting knowledge it really helps boost you further with scripting tribot scripts I am sure.

I have really only dabbled in basic html and have developed a few websites and forums, but really want to try out tribot scripting. It seems pretty straight forward but I am curious how long it takes to learn some basic methods and learn as I go :)

The only other unique script I can think of would be a steel plate leg collector in wilderness.

There is a spawn in graveyard of shadows and they alch for 600gp each. I am sure something could be scripted for that :)

Just very basics I learned before college but I guess understanding of how coding works does help.

That script idea does sound like a good one. Can be done on lvl 3's and great for ironmen. Would be pretty simple too. Noted :)

stun alch

Sounds super simple, and only 1 free stun alcher script in the repository. Thanks!

Update on my scripting progress for those who are interested:

I have looked into nodes, and almost finished converting my script to use nodes. I liked the concept of it so I am going to try it out. I'm about to test what I've got. Then I will try to implement ABC.

    • Hello everyone,

Last week we tried to roll out Auth0 Login, but we lost that battle. Now it's time to win the war!

      Important changes

When logging into the client, you'll now have to enter your Auth0 account credentials instead of your forums credentials

Note: 2FA is still handled through your forums account (for the time being)

      Changes for existing users

You'll have to link your Auth0 account to your forums account here: https://tribot.org/forums/settings/login/?service=11

Auth0 accounts have been created for most existing users. Please use your forums email address and password to login.

      Important notes

Make sure to verify your email address upon creating a new Auth0 account

When we mention your Auth0 account, we mean your account used for auth.tribot.org as displayed below

    • To better support the upcoming changes (TRiBot X, new repository), we're switching our login handler to Auth0. Instead of logging in with the standard form, you'll now be required to login through our Auth0 application.

All existing accounts which have been used within approximately the past year have been imported into Auth0 using the same email and password combination which has been stored on the forums.

What does this mean for users?

Your account credentials are now even more securely stored

You'll be able to login via Facebook, Google, and others in the future

Is there anything users have to do differently now?

Existing users: You'll have to login with the standard login, open your Account Settings, then link your Auth0 account

New users: You'll be redirected to our Auth0 app (auth.tribot.org) where you'll be able to create an account

      Why was this change made?

The new apps we are creating (such as the new repository) aren't able to use the forums to handle user logins

To centralize all user accounts in one area

To ensure that the client login doesn't go down when the forums are having problems

      To speed up our development

      Other considerations

There's no documentation or official support for using Invision Community combined with Auth0, so there are still a few kinks we're working out

We're in the works of creating an account management panel specifically for Auth0 accounts (ETA August)

It's not possible to change email addresses for the time being (this will be resolved this August)

Changing passwords is a weird process for the time being. To change your password, you'll have to use the "Don't remember your password" tool on the Auth0 login page

    • Over the past month, we've been working hard on TRiBot's new repository - a much needed update. This change has been deemed necessary for TRiBot X, and will allow us to really speed up development of all aspects of TRiBot.

Today we are going to share what we've been working on!

Now you must be wondering what kind of features the new repository will have.... well, you'll have to be patient for a little while longer. We're still figuring out various technical aspects so we can't provide answers to all possible questions. We're also focusing on development rather than writing about it so that everyone can get access to our latest developments at lightning speed. I will however answer a few users' questions.

We're planning on a release of this early to mid August, giving users some goodies before TRiBot X's release.

Thank you all for being patient. I hope everyone is excited as much as I am!

    • Over the past few months, I’ve been working diligently on a new project - TRiBot X. Everything has been written from the ground up, with all of the best practices of software engineering. Every aspect of TRiBot has been re-imagined to support three main goals: flexibility, useability, and reliability.
