Beer, drinking beer

Buurrrpp!

Don't know where else to post it. What do you guys think? At the moment I am typing this thread and taking a sip from my Heineken. I have been going to the gym for 6 months now, 4 days a week. I don't use supplements or anything. I just like to be a bit in shape.

It's Thursday. Means it studentnight here in Holland. I am going to see a lot more cans with red stars on it tonight.

But for real.. what effect does beer have on my progress if I go out once in a week?

Happy easter, Cheers!

If you live in Holland you might as well smoke green instead. It's an better alternative if you care for your body shape, drinking much beer will eventually lead to a belly stomach. However, drinking once a week shouldn't do much harm, especially if you work out.

Nope @Butta Rotterdam, I think you may know that city aswell.

@swagg I love to combine it :P thanks though!

What is your opinion about: You should never train before you go out, it's useless.

I'm an exercise science/kinesiology major, and what we have learned is that alcohol really isn't bad for muscles or being in shape, IN MODERATION. The biggest problem with alcohol and working out is that there are 9 Calories per gram of alcohol (carbs/proteins are only 4) making alcohol relatively fattening. However, one serving of alcohol per day won't harm you, and the carbs in beer can actually help you load energy the next day.

Drinking beer will hurt your fitness goals if you consume too much of it (more than 1-2 beers in a night) and especially if you stay out late drinking and lose sleep, which is your body's time to recover and rebuild muscle tissue. Bottom line is, everything in moderation, get enough sleep. Also, drinks like vodka are less fattening than beer. Hope this helps!

Just drink in moderation m8 and you wont have any problems. You sound like a more recreational person when it comes to working out if you get what i mean so it should be all gucci.

Depends bro, does it fit your macros?

I know beer is extremely calorie dense for barely any protein.
