Tribot downloading as .jar?

6 posts in this topic

Hi there,

I have been a long time RuneScape player (since 2006) and quited a couple of years ago, after losing my interest for the game. I am experienced with gold trading and gold farming (altough I was still very unexperienced in the latter) and am keen on getting back into goldfarming now.

I used Powerbot in the past, but heard that Tribot was better. There is however one problem: whenever I download TriBot, it only downloads as a .jar file and the .exe file is missing. How do I activate TriBot?

@KetchupFTW

TRiBot is a Java executable, and has never been an .exe. However, the .jar is not a common file extension so it is easy to get confused.

To run TRiBot you are going to need the latest and greatest Java Runtime Environment or Java Development Kit (Which is recommended and includes the Java Runtime Environment), which you can download here http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jdk8-downloads-2133151.html

Make sure when you get to that page, you click the box that says Accept License Agreement and you download the Windows x86 version. I've highlighted both in this picture

After that's done, follow these instructions to get TRiBot working, and please post here if you encounter any errors or issues, myself or another member will be glad to help!
