TRiBot Freeze Debug Program

40 posts in this topic

Finding the cause of GUI/client freezing issues can be troublesome because no exceptions are thrown, and there are so many possibilities for the cause of the issues. What dramatically raises the difficulty of finding the cause is that only a small portion of users experience issues. If I could re-create the issue myself, then solving the issues would be a lot easier.

This is where the TRiBot Freeze Debug Program comes in. By participating in the program, you are helping find the cause of the pesky freezing issues.

How are we going to find the cause of these issues? I will disable functionality of certain modules in TRiBot. Users who are victim to the issues should post on this thread informing me of whether the changes have been helpful or not. Every few days, I will make changes to TRiBot until users report back that the freezing issues do not occur anymore.

Warning: Some core features will be turned off from time to time. This may break functionality of certain scripts.

Here's how to begin:

  • If you do not experience any freezing issues, then leave this thread.
  • Turn on "Participate in the 'Freeze Debug Program'" (File>Settings).
  • Run your scripts.
  • When TRiBot/the client freezes, post with the below format.

What freezes? (TRiBot GUI? RuneScape client? Everything?)
What do you see?
What happens when you minimize TRiBot, then bring it to foreground?
Have you tried stopping the running script?
What script were you running?
What is in the client debug?
What is in the bot debug?
If you boot TRiBot in console mode, what messages are in the console?

I'll post when I make any changes in regards to this program. Remember to activate the "Freeze Debug Program" toggle in the settings.

SEEMS LIKE THE JAVA MAY BE LAGGING (If that makes sense then great, if not I don't know computers)

What freezes? The entire inside window of the client, so all visibility of active gameplay.
What do you see? My character not moving or anything moving.
What happens when you minimize TRiBot, Same picture or sometimes goes white.
Have you tried stopping the running script? Yes
What script were you running? Combat
What is in the client debug? Yes
What is in the bot debug? Yes I was looking at both, but in the Bot debug it says Java Buffering etc..
If you boot TRiBot in console mode, what messages are in the console? Just the standard starting script, etc etc.

You forgot to answer what are basically the three most important questions

What is in the client debug?

What is in the bot debug?

If you boot TRiBot in console mode, what messages are in the console?

If you boot TRiBot in console mode, what messages are in the console?

Will edit this post later with this info

Picture of 'Runtime Information': (View>Runtime Information)

Heap Size: 512MB (I increased it from 256MB to see if it helped or changed anything but it doesnt :s )
Java Home: C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre7
Java Version: 1.7.0_51 32bit
Operating System: Windows 7
Proxy: none
SID: 18ad6-TSoI968C373C2cNyb16T3X2z9QXMkSpXTF29mnZB0xDTvaVPl
TRiBot Version: TRiBot Release 9.100_3
Uptime: 03:17:02

Also it runs fine for 2 and half hour, then the last 20-30 mins before it crashes its like its lagging really badly until eventually it just freezes and crashes.

If I have missed anything out or done something wrong just let me know, Thanks.

Your TRiBot client crashes because your heap size is too low for running 4 clients (768mb).

I know the cause of the Tribot freezing!!!

If you're running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit, you're probably experiencing the Windows Clock bug, where the Windows Clock randomly changes time every now and then (this is not due to bad settings).

I'm experiencing this freezing bug, and it does appear that it occurs whenever the time changes... I'm also using a cracked version of Windows 7 Ultimate (I used the official ISO, but used the WATRemove crack).

I'm going to re-install my operating system, fix the clock bug, and see if it get's fixed.

Edit: I decided to instead update Windows 7 and I'll report back to see if this fixed the issue (I also changed the Windows Time service to 'Automatic' instead of 'Manual').

Nope, it froze, my error is my computer time, not tribot...

Thanks so much for discovering the issue with system time changing. The current version of TRiBot heavily relies on the system time, and if the system time changes, TRiBot won't function properly. However, TRiBot's issues with system time changing will be fixed later today, along with scripts having reliance on the system time. However, changing system time could possibly break RuneScape.

TRiBot Release 9.102_0 has a fix for the issues that occur when the system time changes. Could someone test TRiBot to see if the freezing issues are resolved?
