i tend to lose interest quickly in a work out, and find that the most effective way for me to exercise is when there is a task that i am completing. for example I play volleyball a couple days a week and get decent exercise from that, also during the summer my family will buy cords or wood to cut up to burn during the winter and I can be out there for hours splitting logs. I'd like to have more tasks during the week that can bring me the benefit of a work out without feeling like it's just reps but I'm not sure what I could do.
