When selecting a script to use, there are a few things you can do to ensure its quality: Check last update date: An old date doesn’t always mean a script is broken. But if it hasn’t been updated in over a year, it’s typically outdated. Read the 1st thread post: From the script info page, click View Thread. Here you can read details about the script’s features and usage. Read last few thread pages: Read posts to get a good idea of how users feel about the script, how active the developer is, and if there are any outstanding issues. Hi everyone! Hope everyone is having a awesome day! New to botting and was curious about the hobby. I’m a returning player and since I’m older I would like to get back into osrs. It crazy at the time I didn’t really understand the concept of the game. But as I’m older I realized that osrs is way ahead of its time!!!

Hi friends, Having completed all the goals I ever wanted on my Ironman, it looks like my RS days are nearing a close. I would like to leave anyone considering botting a main (even one with 1 ban for botting) with some advice that I have learned through botting several mains these last 6 years (and having every account banned except my greatest one). This isn't a bible or anything, just some pointers that may help you along your path to botting excellence. #1 rule for botting: Don't do anything that would make another player report you. Strategy for botting a main/ironman (the following are all the same level of importance): 1.) Join a large CC, such as "ironmancc" for ironmen and comment every now and then on the flow of conversation 2.) Talk to people in the scape whenever you're at your computer and see them skilling near your guy. 5-10 minutes of a good conversation and you can act like you're heading out, but just world hop to a quieter spot 3.) Never bot without any gear on - that is 100% suspicious (useless Rogue's Den and certain activities which require you to not wear armor) 4.) Always bot your main account with proven premium scripts, here are my favorites that I have never received a ban for, but all the loot and levels: (aMiner v2, aAgility v2, nNightmare Zone, Auto Fisher Pro, Netami's Barrows, Auto Winterodt Pro, aPlunderer v2, Optimus Combat & Magic) These are nearly flawlessly crafted scripts. Use the above tips in conjunction with these scripts and you'll have 99 combats, 99 mining (50M+), 99 fish (50M+ with minnows), 99 thieve and so many scepters, 99 FM and loot, all barrows gear, in addition to very high slayer & mage. 5.) ONLY use Looking Glass 6.) Get that Quest Point cape! In fact, use all of your newfound bots to help get those skill requirements (all but hunter). Changing up how you interact with the game is fundamental to keeping ban proof. 7.) Never bot more than 4 hours at a time. I like to keep my sessions down to 2-3 hours, depending on the bot (I run NMZ until I'm out of potions, which is closer to 3.5 hrs). You can take a break and get right back to botting. But never play more than someone who has a RS addiction would play. Some bots have inhuman play times. For 99 mining, I would run my bot for 3 hours before work and 3 hours after I got home from work 8.) Get SPLASHTOP!!! Or something like it. I've been playing RS Mobile for over 8 years through Splashtop. You can put the streamer on your computer and access your computer from your phone, ipad, another computer - anywhere with internet access. This is invaluable to staying ban proof. You can check to make sure everything is going swimmingly, world hop if you're next to some chatty fishers, whatever you need from a remote location. 7.) The following bots should be scarcely used, or simply not at all (my opinion Runecraft - When RC Bots came out, USA had the absolute best. I was able to get to 92 RC in a couple months before getting lazy and receiving that juicy perma ban. USA RC is no longer a thing, and the new RC bots still need some TLC. If you do bot with these, never leave your screen. Construction - fastest skill in the game, and you can do it faster than the bot (and less bot like) Herblore - might be good, no experience with it Fletch - same as above (got my fletch from Winterodt [75+] and myself) Hunter - just don't do it. You can get your hunter up super fast and this skill has the highest chance of receiving a report as you're competing with real players for a spot 8.) Play RS Mobile when you want/can - the game flags that you signed on the mobile client, and those cannot be botted. I did this when making cannonballs on my ironman and buying/selling items at shops (can buy/sell much faster on mobile with spam clicking x50) The following bots I do not have enough experience with to say they are safe if played consciously: Smithing - I love the Blast Furnace bot, but have not used anything except the trial. The bot does Blast Furnace more efficiently than myself (needs further testing -- try it out for yourself and see). nSmithing & AlphaSmither trails both worked really well for me. Cooking - nCooker & Sigma Cooker both worked for me, but I got the majority of my cooking experience by myself Woodcutting - Super easy to legit afk at the WC guild, but Einstein's WC works really well when you don't feel like doing that Farming is so Zen, you don't even need a bot ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ How to get banned: 1.) Get reported - Sometimes due to a game update the bots can break or start behaving improperly. If the bot is behaving improperly, DO NOT AFK, you can still babysit if you like, but how I always received my reports, which lead to perma bans, were the times when I just assumed the bot would run fine, didn't watch it make it's first cycle, & left the house or fell asleep. 2.) Fall asleep botting while using a new script. Always babysit new scripts and END SCRIPT as soon as the bot starts spam clicking or doing something inhuman. 3.) Bot for prolonged time without any legit play in-between 4.) Bot naked, without gear (mentioned above, but worth repeating) 5.) Doing the same task over and over again without changing it up - it's okay to go straight for full Graceful within 2 days using the aAgility v2 bot from level 1 agility. That's what an obsessed human would do. But after getting it the human would also: Cheer, tell people, and most importantly, TAKE A BREAK FROM AGILITY. Good luck to all & thank you for the help and great bots throughout the years. WB

I have used the trial of this script as a test for automating the preparation phase of my gold farm. I am very enthusiastic. The script works flawlessly, and greatly reduces my efforts to get my seperate gold farms prepared for a run. Props to the author, keep up the good work! You have a new customer :).

Welcome, you chose the right client in tribot; it has some really great features you should check out. Be aware, ban rates are high if you don’t know what you’re doing, so make sure you read up on how to bot in a smart manner. What kind of botting are you looking to do? Do you want to bot on a single account, or potentially set up a bot farm? (Here is an excellent post about bot smart)

I cannot confidently vote yes at this time, my main concerns are as follows (in order): Time-frame: almost all your scripts have been released very recently (right before application), and they all feel like they were just made to apply with quickly. I won't knock the lack of features here since this is just a script application, though. Java conventions and scripting practices: Oracle has clear standards set for naming variables, constants, methods, classes, etc. These should be followed closely at all time. On the scripting side things like using static interface IDs to find interfaces will lead to nothing but problems, I'd recommend checking out Laniax's Entity Selector API for this in particular. The other top things to work on are use of static sleep timers, null checking, and caching information instead of re-checking it constantly from the API. General Java/OOP knowledge. This is pretty common for new scripters to lack (I definitely did), but it will make your life a lot easier if you take some time to understand objects, inheritance, and things like common collection types. I hope you'll keep scripting and improving so that we can re-visit your application in the future.

In this thread, we're going to aim at discussing some of the known techniques and practices towards safe botting. While it is impossible to prevent a ban, you can use some of these suggestions towards your botting to help mitigate risks towards your account. Most of this is all well known, we just wanted to organize these tips into a thread to help get you in the mindset of how to practice safer botting. Overview Your goal should be to emulate a normal player in game, we can do this through several ways but these three are the major ones that you as the player have an impact over. 1. Session length - Thinking like a normal player, you should set up your bot for average lengths 1-3 hour sessions with breaks built in. And while a normal player could play for longer than that, just realize if you choose to bot for a 8 hour session you're adding more exposure to your account in game which could result in getting caught. A safe practice would be to set a total time you would expect to play during the week, and divide your sessions up so your total game time does not exceed that value. (i.e. 30 hours in a week, split across five 6 hour sessions +/- 2 hours) 2. Location changing - Your goal should be to minimize your account's exposure in game and location changing can really help you with that. If the Script supports other locations, consider moving your account to another location for less exposure. If other locations are not possible, consider changing up your botting pattern by switching to another Script that performs in a separate location. 3. World Hopping - Changing worlds is a great way to limit your exposure to other players, and continue performing the same task without changing locations in game. A player who sees you at the same spot, performing the same task, for several hours at a time will become suspicious and likely report you. Keep this in mind when botting. 4. Activity - The activity you perform in game can also highlight you as a bot. If you only chop trees and your account's stats reflect that, a player directly competing with you for those trees will grow suspicious of your behavior and will likely result in getting reported. If possible, try to switch up the activities you perform on your account so that you are exposed for a less amount of time at each activity. Script As for the obvious, the script should also be considered as that impacts your player in game. 1. When botting it is important to recognize what task your player is performing in game. For example, if you are executing a Script that collects items that are in direct competition of other players in game; you can expect to bring more attention and potential player reports than if you were doing an activity that kept your player to itself. This is important to consider as this may play a bigger factor and stress the importance of the Overview and Other Factors listed above. 2. While it is the author's goal to create a Script that executes the task efficiently in game, sometimes performance can become a bigger focus than safe practice. If that is the case, it is important to bring this to the attention of the author to have the Script perform the task as a player would. This applies to the Developers as much as it applies to the user. Other Factors Some other things to consider are what a normal player's account looks like compared to the average botter. 1. Appearance - Your appearance in game, should reflect other players who are performing the same task. The bots that stand out are regularly targeted during bot busting events and should be considered at all times. 2. Combat level & overall stats - Your combat level can also highlight you as a bot or not. A level 3 chopping yews is commonly picked off as a bot and will be targeted during bot-busting events. If you are looking at increasing your accounts longevity, put in the work by leveling your account's combat level up to a respectable level based on the activity your player is performing to help blend into the crowd. 3. Name - Your name in game should be chosen to reflect a normal player. While it is common to name your bot farms in sequential order (i.e. yewchopper1, yewchopper2, etc.) your account unfortunately will stand out among other players and a quick highscores search will result in another player confirming that you are a bot. Try selecting a normal name that does not relate to your other accounts. 4. Conversation in game - For those concerned about your account, popping in and engaging in small chat every once and a while could prove your legitimacy if other players are conversing. TRiBot's built-in autoresponder (default: OFF) can be turned on to help with this, or you can manually talk in game once and a while which may help your player. In the end, it all boils down to player reports and your account's activity in game. If you can reduce player reports on your character through these safe botting techniques and change up your activities in game regularly, you stand to better protect your account overall in the long run. *If you'd like to suggest an addition to this thread, please post it below and it may be added.
